New Year’s Eve & Haiku

Just got invited to play New Year’s Eve at Wonders Pub in Madison opening for a local bluegrass outfit the Oak Street Ramblers. Old friend Marty Letz is gonna come up and lay down the pedal steel for me…should be a fun way to ring in 2007.

Wisconsin Winter is setting in brown and grey these days. Netflix is my friend….catching up on things I seemed to have missed. Playing with an 80’s Casio and flirting with a 50’s Gibson J45. Just bought my first Califone album…damn! Trying to stay warm and holing up again. Had some really fun shows recently with Cory Branan and Josh Harty, you should check those guys out…

Looks like I’m going back to Holland and maybe Germany for a short tour April 2-10, 2007. Some festival in Holland hosted by Jan Donkers and other dates around that weekend. I’ll post those dates as soon as I get them. To my friends over the pond…it will be good to see ya again and thanks for the support on my new CD. You can buy it at Sonic Rendezvous.

Have a great holiday and Happy New Year!
In peace (sorta),

P.S. as an added holiday drunken bonus… here’s some 1 hour time limit Haiku poems written this Monday past while watching a CSI Miami re-run, drinking red wine, and ranting at Karen’s ebay madness… gotta love the 575 and alcohol combo…kp

a pseudo poet

the heart is heavy
and the days turn into years
she’s not coming back

hold me through the night
push me into the corner
my arm loves the numb

blue-haired lane drifters
slowly speeding into sleep
beware the buick!
